California Natural Calorie question

Hello. I had a question about the calorie content in California Natural. This is what it says on the bag:
511 kcal/cup (4.4 oz = 1 cup)
Does this mean that there's 511 calories in a cup where a cup is equal to 4 oz? Since there's 8 oz in a cup, aren't you actually feeding 1000 calories per cup?

Re: California Natural Calorie question

No, it does not because there's a difference in liquid and dry measurements.

Re: California Natural Calorie question

AB is right. Dry product is measured by weight. 1 cup of Can Nat = 4.4 oz so 1 measuring cup of dog kibble is 511 calories

Re: California Natural Calorie question

I never noticed the weight of the 1 cup. Now that you mention it, I had to go weigh the 1 cup. You are right I get 4.4 oz. Now I know my measuring cup it accurate too!
