Re: Alert for Canidae Users: Formula Changes

I purchase some Canidae recently and my girl didn't attack it with her usual gusto. Also noticed she had much more fragrant poop.

I guess I won't be buying it anymore.

Re: Alert for Canidae Users: Formula Changes

This thread has been particularly enlightening. I went to the store after reading about Canidae being different and conduted my own research reading every bag of food in the store, weighing the facts and decided on Orijen. I admit I had some margin of doubt but after reading all these threads I am so thrilled that I made a really good decision without any advertising or input - just reading. I spent a lot of time in the store, fortunately, I know them well so they indulged me. Thanks for all the input. The criteria I used was if I could not pronounce the ingredients or figure out what they were, the bag was dropped from consideration.

Oh no! I just switched my dogs from Eagle Pack to Canidae! All I have noticed so far is a little more itching than usual. Has any body seen this as well?

Re: Alert for Canidae Users: Formula Changes

just finished our first bag of not only lamb and rice, but the new formula. dogs like it, did well on it, but the poop is bigger and "fluffier" if that makes sense. they've been gassy too.

just switched to healthwise active chicken and oatmeal. I used to feed them the regular chicken and oatmeal. I like Natura foods, but Boris can't eat turkey, and both Evo and Innova have it. (well, not the red meat, but dang that is expensive!!)

Re: Alert for Canidae Users: Formula Changes

I still don't know what dog food I am going to feed. I liked the Canidae, so did the dogs, but I am thinking strongly about California Natural. UUUUGGGGG did they have to do this? Thank you for finding this out. Racheal

Re: Alert for Canidae Users: Formula Changes

My 6 month old boy is doing really well with Canidae, no complaints here. He goes 3 times a day and the stool is firm. I also mix a little of the Canidae canned with his dry food.

Re: Alert for Canidae Users: Formula Changes

Hi Everyone - I'm new to the site. Have a 14 wk okd male Rottie named Deebo. He's currently on Innova. We had considered switching to Canidae, however I am glad I joined this forum to find so much info. I was wondering if any of you had wondered how Canidae could be good for "all life stages"? I mean, let's think about this - in addition to a puppy, Rottweilers are large-breed puppies. How can 1 formula be sufficient for regular puppies, large-breed, adult, and senior dogs? It just doesn't make sense. With concerns with large breeds and rapid growth, protein and calcium levels, etc. I wanted some answers. Unfortunately, a Canidae representative did NOT call me back. Sorry to babble, I was just wondering if I was the only one that wondered about the "all life stage" theory. Thanks for listing and please share your thoughts!
