| Re: My puppy stinks Another thought is to use an enzyme cleaner which may get those "organic" doggy smells out better than any detergent...the natures miracle line of products is wonderful. Aside from taking the dog to the vet re anal glands, I'd have thyroid checked (heard dogs with thyroid issues can stink). Can't hurt... That being said, I do know someone where I used to live who owned and bred dogs, was a great trainer but his dogs were kennell dogs as his wife had bad allergies...While I have no doubt that those dogs were very well taken care of (and I had been to the kennel myself) they had that kennell smell you could smell if they passed you.

| Re: My puppy stinks I feed raw in my dogs crate without any odor problems (dog or house). Brutus cleans up like a pro and I wipe the plastic pan with a vinegar/water mixture. It doesn't take a lot of extra effort to clean up if feeding raw in a crate. However, if your pup likes to toss or drag his food around, you may want to rethink where you feed. Sounds like you have been feeding raw chicken and some organ for a little over a month now.....probably time to slowly add some variety to his menu. |

I love giving Brutus something new...I swear his eyes get real big like a kid and he kinda looks at me like "REALLY??? THIS IS FOR ME????" Sounds like you've got the raw feeding under control! |

| Re: My puppy stinks Ok , so I think i've found the other part of the problem , the cage itself seems to be an issue . It seems I need to clean the metal cage itself , so I took it out of the house and the smell seems to be going away, going to give it a good hosing plus I gave him a good bath today ( blow dryer this time) and now he doesn't smell. I just need to put him in an environment that doesn't smell , seems his coat absorbs scents in the surrounding area especially in a basement with poor ventilation . The saga continues :) |

| Start feeding his raw meals out of the crate. The juices from the meat will be dripping all over the crate, and it makes it very hard to keep clean and bacteria free. We do suggest very young puppies and older dogs (that have never been crated) to eat meals in their crates. This is for kibble meals. Puppies/dogs that are used to the crate (yours should be by now)...don't need to eat their meals in the crate. Feed him outside, or feed him on a washable mat or rug...make sure he keeps his meat on the rug or mat. Outside feeding is much easier. I think once you start feeding him outside of the crate, things will smell much better. ![]() Gina
