Re: I need to change Food, but to what?

Like Hokisteph5 mentioned earlier, EVO is generally not recommended for Large breed puppies until they are done growing at about 10-12 months of age (medium and small breeds it would probably be ok). Since you are in Canada, you might be able to get Orijen Puppy for a decent price (Orijen is more expensive in the States). Orijen is a grainless formula like EVO, but they make a puppy formula which is ok for large breeds. I feed EVO and really like the grainless food, so I would recommend that once the time comes.

That being said, I think that Canidae is a very good value. I know others that have liked FRR, but my concern is the wheat flour, and then ground wheat, and then the wheat germ meal...3 of essentially the same ingredients. It is a little low on the fat side for my liking as well, but that's just me. Also, what works great for one dog may not work great for another, so you may have to go through a few foods before finding something that suits your puppy best. Enjoy your pup!

Re: I need to change Food, but to what?

Please tell me why you got a puppy to begin with if you are broke and struggling with high quality food?! What happens if the pup breaks a bone? Has a GI obsruction? Cruciate surgery? .... very sad....
