Feeding Orijen, Dandruff?

Morning all,

Maximus has been on Orijen Puppy for two weeks now, but hes got dandruff. even more so than when he was on Nutro puppy.

any suggestions? i was thinking of maybe switching him over to Canidae? anyone else have dandruff issues feeding Orijen?

Keep him on it for awhile longer. Many puppies just get dandruff, because they are growing quickly and their skin is shedding...and they get puppy dandruff.
Has puppy ever had a bath? Maybe it's time for a bath.

lol...I was thinking just the opposite, that maybe the pup had too many baths. :)

what do you considering too many baths? he get's one a week forsure, and maybe one more if he NEEDS it ;)

Way too many baths!
One bath every couple of months is more then enough. Also be sure to use a gentle shampoo such as an oatmeal based one as well as rinse, rinse, rinse and rinse again.

Stop bathing him.

Yep, once a week is too often. You're stripping the oils from his skin.

thanks alot. i will cut his baths back to only when he needs one, and even then i'll just wash him with water if its only been a while since he had a shampoo bath.

oatmeal based shampoo you say! ill look for that at the pet store today. ty

Also, I think most people bathe their dogs in water that's too warm. Use lukewarm water and rinse twice as much as you think you need to.
