Solid Gold

I purchased some solid gold for Dixie recently.

I wanted to test drive it so I only got 2 cans, 1 small bag of "wolf king" and a bag of treats; the Garlic Bagel.

I've only given out one of the Garlic Bagel's so far and Dixie LOVED it! I've never seen her lick her lips so much! She even vaccumed the floor for the crumbs too.

I hope she feels the same about the food; well kinda. It's not available locally so I ordered this over the internet. I'm not sure I can pay shipping/handling and all that for her food constantly.

I plan to test drive is on our camping trip in earnest since she'll be active the whole time. I'll be sure to share her reaction.

How do you get your Solid Gold foods, I love that it kinda home grown if you will - I love supporting local (american) products too.

Re: Solid Gold

Ive seen them sold on K9cuisine ans they offer free shipping, but i dont know about the canned type. I feed orijen LBP so Im not to familar with the solid gold. Dont they make the Barking At The Moon? I was thinking of trying some out but could not find any information on the Calcium/Phosphorus ratios and my pup is doing real good on the Orijen so Im gunna stick with what he likes.

Wink Re: Solid Gold

We buy Solid Gold and Winnie loves it! The Barking at The Moon Formula has been great and she has been doing quite well with it. We but our food at Pet Supplies Plus and I think there are a few locations in Southern Florida but I'm not sure if they are close to you - Delray Beach, Lake Park, and New Port Richey. I know that the Petco stores close to us have also started carrying some higher end brands to include the Solid Gold line and Natural Balance - to name a couple. Hopefully one of these places has it and is close to you. I know that the Pet Supplies Plus stores in our area will order whatever you need and they won't charge shipping even if they don't carry it in their store. Good luck with the food - we think it's just great!

Re: Solid Gold

I hope that your dog doesn't have a sensitive stomach, because if she does she will get an upset stomach from you changing her food (if you didn't plan on slowly introducing the new food.)

Re: Solid Gold

The southern stores are too far away, unless I could get a better shipping price from them.

I do go to petco here in Central FL - so far no solid gold but they do have Nutro which is what I was feeding her.

She's very good about new foods, has to be. Her momma is not real good about that, when she won't eat her usual stuff I give her something different/special. I demand tough tummies from people and dogs :). Thanks though GMO, I know you have her best interest at heart.

I use Solid Gold. The Petco's in Nebraska/Iowa sell Solid Gold now. Check with them to see if they can talk to a distrubitor
