| 9Month Old Rottie Nutrition Q's I have a 9Month old girl. She is such a darling (well, if you dont mind the destroyed wooden furnitures and all). Anyway I have alot of questions basically on her nutrition. I have been feeding her a hi protein kibble for 7 months now and she has no trouble with it. She has recently had her first period and I think shes already heading to puberty. Q: When do i switch her to adult dog food? Recently she has been having small scabs almost dandruff like stuff under her coat in the skin. She has some on her ears too. It feels rough. She doesnt seem to mind em and she doesn look like itching from it. Q: Anyone know what it is? Thanks. |

| Re: 9Month Old Rottie Nutrition Q's Hey, It sounds to me like a food allergy. You may want to look for another food. What are you feeding her? You may also want to try supplementing with omegas 3,6 and 9. Many people debate upon which are the best sources to get these fatty acids, but I suggest you probably try with a fish oil, because they are more readily available and more easily digested. To aid in absorbtion I would use Vitamin E with it. Although, in my own personal use of the omega fatty acids the best source to accelerate absorbtion is coconut oil, (Which I'm sure a lot of people would disagree with me). Anyhow, I 'm no professional and my puppy struggles with dry skin and food allergies to, but I think after long hours of research and experimenting I 'm much closer to solving this problem. Hope this helps, and don't get discouraged. This is sometimes a difficult situation to handle. I wish you the best. Javier |

| What is the name of the high protein kibble that you are feeding her? I know you don't have the choice of foods in the Philippines that we have in North America. She can go on a good quality adult food now. If the food you are feeding her has corn or wheat or soya, it could be food allergies that are causing the scabs and dandruff, or could it be fleas? You can have her spayed now that she has had a heat. She will live a longer, healthier life spayed. Gina
