Well, if his poop is soft and mushy, he may be reacting to the wheat and corn in the food...both ingredients are common allergens...if you have a look through the nutrition forum you'll find lots of info on good foods!!!

Sorry, but I am confused. Exactly what are you asking? Your post title is weight gain, but then you talk about him going to the bathroom twice after each meal. Are you asking us for suggestions on how to have him gain weight or to have less bowel movements? Basically, a good food source would do both. Is he thin? What does he weigh and how tall is he and how old is he?

As was suggested, you can do a search for the various threads on different foods and find lots of great suggestions here. I'm sure you will find something that can answer your questions.

Stop feeding the dog rice!
If you want to add something extra to the dry food....feed a good quality canned food, or some chicken or beef (hamburger), or cooked eggs or cottage cheese or canned sardines or mackeral, etc.
By adding the rice you are just adding carbs....go for some good quality proteins instead.

He may be pooping huge amounts because of the brand of food you are feeding and the extra rice. I don't know what foods are available in Hong Kong?

Did you want Benji to add some weight?
How much does he weigh now? Are his ribs showing?

Gina

Re: gain weight

i am sorry... i didn't ask the question right.

benji is tall, but really skinny, his ribs are slightly showing. since he eats a lot, i believe the reason is that he poops too much.

And the reason that he poops so much is because he needs a better food fed to him. Also, be sure that he has been wormed, if he has worms then he will get thin.

Re: gain weight

Why are you feeding him puppy food if he is 2 years old?? Lots of poop means you are feeding him a lower quality food that contains many grains and filler. get him more meat/protein in his diet.
