Re: Frozen raw diet ?

Chili's been getting Steve's Real Food as part of her diet. She absolutely loves the stuff, took to it right away.....not so with the Prairie frozen raw. I buy it at the local feed store.

Re: Frozen raw diet ?

I feed the Prairie frozen raw (I feed one meal of raw and one meal of kibble with canned meat or tripe each day) and my dog loves it, I drive an hour each way to the closest store that has it (it's a pet food store that stocks most of the high end diets, so I usually stock up with a month's supply of everything when I'm there). He thinks the Prairie kibble is poisonous though.

Re: Frozen raw diet ?

A freind of mine just bought the local feed/pet supply store so I am going to ask her to check with her suppliers.
Being lazy about dealing with food is part of my reason for not feeding raw but my main concern is not doing it correctly. I read alot of "raw diets" there are so many choices. I ordered B Natural suppliments to get started so we are one day closer.
Thanks, please keep info coming.

Re: Frozen raw diet ?

I use Bravo..but I mix it with Kibble...(I think it says on the label it's meant to be combined). I buy the chicken and turkey blend 5 pound frozen rolls. I buy it at an independent pet store in bath, ohio. I think it's great stuff.

Re: Frozen raw diet ?

or..... for most of the benefits of raw without the prep work and freezing hassles... you might try dehydrated raw. There are three varieties of complete food, plus one other that's intended to be used as a base to which you add your own meat. And if you own two restaurants, you may be buying your meat directly from a butcher, which means they can get you raw beef knuckle bones. See

thehonestkitchen.com

We recently tried the Preference base and added our own meat. The dogs went banannas over it and it saved me all the hassle of making everything from scratch. Good stuff.

FYI
