Solid Gold Wolf Cub/King + Barking at the Moon?

I really want to try Clyde on the Wolf Cub food for another 2-3 months (once he finishes this bag of Natural Balance), then change him over to Wolf King and supplement in some of the Barking at the Moon (grain free) or EVO.

Any comments or suggestions? Is Solid Gold all it's cracked up to me? What's Barking at the Moon like? Anyone feed either of the three foods?

Thanks@

I have a dog that's boarding with me now that is on the Wolf Cub. In all honesty, it's not a high calorie food and I would not be feeding it to my dog. This is a young Lab (13 months of age) she weighs 45 lbs and needs to eat 4 cups a day. Why don't you keep the dog on Natural Balance? If you want a change...I would be trying Innova Adult or Canidae...these foods are both much higher in calories and have good ingredients and much less grain than Wolf Cub.

What about keeping him on Natural Balance and supplementing with Innova EVO red meat? I feed Clyde 2 cups of Natural Balance twice a day; he won't eat any more than that.

I like Natural Balance, but he's very farty on it!

I was thinking of Wolf Cub myself and I noticed it just isn't high enough in protein for our breed. I really like Timberwolf Organics they have a variety of meat proteins and because of that different % of protein and fat.

Have you tried giving him some plain yogurt? That's something I read on here and tried. I tend to slice up a banana and put about a tablespoon of yogurt on top. Mine don't necessarily get the yogurt every day, but their gas is non-existent.

I have not tried plain yogurt; I will look for it next time I go to the grocery store. How much would I give?

It was also mentioned that the protein level in WolfCub was not high enough; what specifically should be looking for, percentage wise?

Thank you!

Re: Solid Gold Wolf Cub/King + Barking at the Moon?

If he's gassy, something in the food isn't agreeing with him. I don't agree with treating the symptoms rather than the cause. Nothing wrong with feeding yoghurt, but I wouldn't be feeding it to treat gas that's in all likelihood being caused by the food you're feeding him, I'd be changing foods. Why keep feeding something that's clearly got something in it that your dog can't handle well?

Here's a thread that talks a little more about protein content. In terms of the yogurt, I only give about a tablespoon's worth.
