| dog weight im really sorry to keep asking questions but i have always had german shepherds never a rottie.Kane the rottie im gettin on tuesday is only 92.5lbs.i read the breed standards and it says they should weigh more then that.he does look a few lbs underweight due to heartworms(being treated currently).what can i do to make him put on some weight.he will be eating purina large breed formula.if anybody has a suggestion for a better food just for rotties.please could you tell me.oh and are we allowed to put pics up here.i would LOVE to show off my big guy. |

| Re: dog weight I don't think that 92 lbs is unreasonable. There are many on here with dogs less than 100lbs and my last was 85lbs. Genetics will determine his proper size. Just feed a reasonable diet and will straighten himself out on his own. Don't try and bulk up. If all our dogs fell right within the breed standard there would be no need for sieger or conformation shows. |

| Re: dog weight ok thanks i just didnt know.he does look about 3-4lbs underweight in my opionion.he is just a wonderful dog he has the greatest temperment ever.i actually didnt know there was red rotties but hes red so i dont know. |

| Re: dog weight Well my vet told me to take what they weigh at 4months and double that and thats what they should weigh as an adult so that would make Gypsy 80-85 pounds, Also maybe a better quality food would be good, look under some great post on quality foods
