How much do ya'll spend on dog food a month?

Hi,

Just wondering how much ya'll spend on dog food a month... I spend for 2 LARGE dogs around $ 80- $100, it seems like I'm buying 2 40lbs bags every two weeks...

i now get my free food/discounted from my job(vet clinic),thank god!
i wish i can afford and feed the really premium stuff,(cannidae,innova), but with 5 dogs, and only my income...i can't.
they get purina JM and eukanuba large breed.
but back in the days of having to buy my own, i averaged $35-40 a month per dog for premium pet store food.(nutro's or eukanuba natural)

A bag lasts us about a month and a half... roughly. We pay about $45 per bag (EVO). He only eats 2 cups a day ... sometimes a little less than that.

I pay $35 for a 40 pound bag of canidae it last almost 2 months plus I buy can food as well for $12.99 a case I buy that everyother month as well

My two boys both eat innova, the cost is about $100 approx. every 6 weeks.

Your dogs are eating an awful lot of food!!!
What kind of food are you feeding?

If you feed a better quality food you will have to feed far less. I also have 2 big dogs and each dog goes through a 33lb bag of food in about 6 weeks. Each bag (one eats Adult Innova and the other Senior Innova) costs about $59. (CND) + tax. The food does cost, but....Baxter only eats 21/2 cups total per day, and China only 2/3rds of a cup twice a day.

I figure I have saved tons of money on vet fees by feeding them a super premium food. I would rather spend the money on the food, than give it to the vet.

I have 3 large dogs and a small dog. I purchase from a distributor so my costs are less than most, but I use approx 2 35# bags a month. Two of my dogs eat Innova EVO which costs me 32$ a bag and the other two eat healthwise Chicken and oatmeal which runs around 20$ a bag. I also purchase the Innova EVO canned for the pup and that costs 12$ a case. so I would say For 4 dogs eating premium food I pay about 64$ a month.
The Rottie pup eats 2 cups twice a day plus half a can.
The pug eats 1/4 cup twice a day.
The GSD eats 1 cup 2x a day
The Rottie Great dane mix also eats one cup twice a day.

$43 every six or seven weeks for Canidae. Daisy eats 2 1/2 cups total daily. She gets a little "human food" such as plain yogurt, roast chicken, fruits and veggies.

It costs us about $36 for a 36lb. bag of California Natural and one bag lasts about 6 weeks for one dog. He gets between 3.5-4 cups of food per day.

I feed them Giant breed Pro Plan Adult and Baxter eats 6 cups( 2 - 3 cups daily) and Isabella is currently eating 10 cups(2- 5 cups) and I still wonder if I'm feeding her enough. She just turned 2, English Mastiff, about 130lbs and eats like a pig and still gains no weight. Ain't nothing wrong with her, I take them both to the vet every 4 months for "check ups". I've tried switching before, but 3 months later with them still having the runs got ridiculous, so Pro Plan it is...

When we fed Bear Purina he at about 5 cups per day, and was pooping ALOT! We had to buy a bag every 2 weeks. We actually spend LESS (ok maybe a dollar or two less, still it's less) by feeding him Evo.

Really really think about switching to a better food. What food did you try when you switched before?

Nutro... I've even tried the raw diet with them, they liked it, I didn't like their farts, stunk up the house... so that was out...

We have two dogs, a male rott and a female mastiff. I feed a raw diet with a large variety of proteins. Cost is usually around $175-200 per month.
