Re: ready made mashed potatoes

I do not know what you are currently feeding. The potatoes will not harm a dog, but they are starchy and carb-laden. If you are feeding homemade
then potatoes should only be a small fraction of the total diet fed. Kibble is
high in carbs so adding potatoes would not be advisable.
Best wishes-

Post Re: ready made mashed potatoes

I don't think there is much nutritional value in Instant Mashed Potatoes.
Why would you want to feed it to your dog?

Dogs need meat...you can add some carbs ( potatoes, oatmeal, rice, pasta,etc)...but they could easily live without them.

What are you currently feeding? If you can only get a poor quality kibble, then feed it, and add some meat ( chicken, beef, lamb) or add eggs or yogurt to bump up the quality of the poor kibble.

Re: ready made mashed potatoes

i agree...sometimes i even make a sort of "doggie omelette" for my puppy...i just scramble some eggs and add in some of her kibble and on occasion depending on her behavior...i crush some of her treats and add them in there...definately a favourite in her books lol

Re: ready made mashed potatoes

How do you mean when you say add it to her meal? If you mean adding the dried powder straight to her bowl then id consider the fact that this stuff doubles in size when you add water. It might bloat your dog.
