Re: good food???

food opinions are plentiful and strongly felt by some.
you seem to be feeding a good quality brand, and if the puppy is doing good, thriving, and no problems, then i would stick with it.

i feed purina and eukanuba, which alot of people object to. but they are doing good and that's what i can afford with 5 dogs. and it has worked for me.

Re: good food???

I've been serving my dog FROMM and he doesn't mind if I soak them in water for a bit which appears to make him digest and eat up his food better than just serving up his kibble dry

Post Re: good food???

Natural Balance is a good food. Many forum members feed it and are very happy with their dogs condition.
Not sure about Nutro treats? I usually try to buy the more natural treats . Right now they are working on a bag of Northern Biscuit (peanut butter flavor). It's a Canadian company that makes natural dog bisquits in small batches, with no preservatives. Their website is: northernbiscuit.com

Fruits and veggies given as treats are also a good choice.

Re: good food???

After 17 years of rottweiler ownership and trying lots of different foods (English) I have gone for the natural meat, veg & deans mixer biscuits. I have got shiny coats and less moulting, and very fit looking dogs. I give SA37, seaweed powder and brewers yeast also, with the occassional live yoghurt.
I can't see me changing again. For the vegetables I put them in a blender then just freeze a weeks worth. Very convenient.

Re: good food???

I have used Nutro food with all of my animals including my older dog, my cat and rott pup. Its an extremely high quality food. They say people taste test it too. Crazy huh? I also know that the company Solid Gold is also another high quality food. I used to feed my cat solid gold but switched to Nutro. They are all better than 9 lives or Purina. At least the good brands use 100% real food and no bi-products.

Re: good food.
Nutro is a highly recommended food this side of the pond as well (UK). I did try this before finally settling on the meat and veg (above 2), but to be fair I think I had decided to go back to natural before I gave the nutro a chance. Lots of show people use it here and swear by it. If I was using "all in one" here it would be Nutro.

Re: good food???

Everyone does different on this. I only feed "Exclusive". I don't know where it is available at, but only one place near me has it.
Long as your food doesn't list corn as the first thing, read the ingredients over.
Mine is listed as:

INGREDIENTS: Chicken, chicken meal, oatmeal, whole grain brown rice,
chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols, a source of vitamin E), dried beet pulp, flaxseed,
dried egg product, natural chicken flavor, fish meal, brewers dried yeast, dicalcium
phosphate, potassium chloride, salt, choline chloride, vitamin E supplement, iron
proteinate, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, potassium iodide, thiamine mononitrate,
manganese proteinate, ascorbic acid, vitamin A supplement, biotin, calcium pantothenate,
sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), vitamin B12 supplement,
menadione dimethylpyrimidinol bisulfite (source of vitamin K activity),
riboflavin, vitamin D supplement, folic acid.

I fed canaidae for a while and Gypsy didnt seem to like it, she had soft stools, I havent tried the foods you use, but I use chicken lovers soul( somthing like that) some think its not a good food but its first 3 ingredients are meat and she has done wonderful on it, she has a nice shiny coat is gaining weight and she only poohs 2xs a day sometimes 3 at the most. she also gets hip/jpint suplements and she loves fruits and veggies

Re: good food???

Tara eats Canidae P.A.W.S. (puppy, adult, working, senior) formula, and she loves it. She has small, compact stools and they are easy to clean up. Her coat is always shiny and clean, and it has absolutely NO odor whatsoever. Her last wet bath was the middle of May, and her coat is as clean and odor-free as it was the day after her bath.
