PRECISE

Anybody know anything about a dog food called "PRECISE". Its supposed to be right up there with the famous "IAMS".

what do you mean by famous iams?
dog food is not a real tough subject to figure out. its just that everyone has a different opinion of what is the best for your dog.
just go to a search engine and type in dog food and read some of the stuff out there. then you can decide for yourself what you like.
i have never heard of precise but if it contains animal by-products i wouldnt feed it to my dog. you can find that out by reading the ingrediants. thats just my opinion.

Roger: I used to feed Precise until about one and a half months ago. The ingredients and manufacturing process sounded really good and were working well for about 2 years. Then I noticed both my Rotties were developing really loose stools towards the end of a poop. So, I have switched them to another brand.

If you want to learn more about dog foods there is a good site at http://www.bullmastiff.org/food.htm. It gives you a good cross section of the foods available from Purina all the way across the board. Your search engine will also help as there are quite a number of sites which will explain all the babble on the ingredient labels.

I am more and more inclined to switch to pureed raw foods but am doing a cost analysis before going that way.

Have fun in your search!!

Just my opinion, but Iams is grocery store quality found at your local petstore, at a little higher price. If that is all you can afford, by all means, but my baby gets top of the line, which all comes down to about 3-6 major premiums, depending who you talk to. best I can figure, Iams makes 3 quality's,
Paws, Iams, and Euk., And that is Quality's, as in levels of good within its company, not exacticaly quality.

I didnt try to imply that IAMS is good. But I feed Flint River Ranch and I am very impressed with both the quality and price. Only problem is I have it shipped so I have to try and time when my girl is going to run out.
