| Puppy Dandruff Bear is twelve weeks old. He still ocasionally has an accident in his crate, necessitation cleaning. I've tried to avoid water baths and have recently switched to "dry" baths if needed. I've noticed he has some dandruff. Should I be doing anything to get rid of this? |

| This is pretty normal for puppies. They go through several coat changes as they grow and usually have some dandruff to go with it http://www.rottweiler.net/rottie/wink.gif. Of course, if he's itchy or has a lot of dandruff then you're probably drying his skin out too much. Dry heat indoors can do this too. | My Rottie pup (he is now 5 months old) has had dandruff since I've had purchased him (8 weeks). The vet told me to use Avon's Skin So Soft along with water. She advised me to mix 1 part Skin So Soft to 19 parts water in a spray bottle. She told me that this will make his coat shine even brighter, make him smell alot better and, most importantly, moisturize his dry skin. At first, I misted him about everyday and brushed him thoroughly. The dandruff pretty much cleared up in a couple of weeks. Now he gets it every 3 or 4 days. It's definitely worth a try and he smells so much better. Good luck! |
