gastroenteritis and mild pancreatitis

Zeiss just spent three days at the emergency vet for a sudden onset of gastroenteritis and possible mild pancreatitis. His daily food before this illness was Canadiae. I gave no rawhides, he had only small training treats that had no preservatives or I gave him fresh cooked meat as a treat (chicken, steak). Only other food I gave him was all natural organic peanut butter used when I needed to give him his heartworm pill.

Right now he is supposed to eat small amounts of W/D can food for three days. I would like to know what foods others are feeding that may have had experience with these conditions. I thought he was doing good on Canadiae but Im wondering if I should consider another food.

Im going to take my food options into my vet, just wanted help with narrowing down the choices. We have a follow up appointment this Saturday so I want to take a list of foods and the info on the foods to the vet.

Re: gastroenteritis and mild pancreatitis

My girl Whitney had chronic pancreatitis. I did a bag test on EVERYTHING, food and treats before she got it. Put a small amount of food or treats in a paper sack, and let it sit for a bit and see how greasy the bag gets. If it got greasy, she did not get it. She did really well on California Natural Chicken and Rice and Kirkland Brand Chicken and Rice. I bought her baked treats and chicken jerkey.
