Cottage Cheese...yes or no?

Anyone got experience in mixing this with kibble as a treat?
For humans, whey protein is one of the most soluble, so just curious if this is just as good for our pups as it is us.

I think too much of protein will not be very good, it makes the dog gets itchy, and many scratching, balanced food would be good.or giving multivitamin in addition that your dog work out regularly or it'll be wasted, remember by giving calcium only during the day, the morning sunlight would make it work better..

I feed it occasionally. It depends on your dog, some dogs have trouble with lactose, some don't (just like people).

Mine get the occasional dollop of cottage cheese on top of their kibble from time to time. Doesn't cause them any problems and they love it.

Well, I mixed in about 1/4 cup last night as a treat and her stool today has been just great. Both her and my 7 yo M thought it was quite a nice treat!

Re: Cottage Cheese...yes or no?

Julius gets a small amount every now & then. I eat cottage cheese on an almost daily basis (cuz I love it so!) & he typically gets a spoonfull as well. Typically never more than a tablespoon of cottage cheese, though. He's okay with dairy in smaller amounts but I have a feeling that 1/4 c. would loosen Julius' bowels a bit too much. Some dogs just have stronger stomachs than others. Julius is not one of those dogs with a strong stomach. The key for him is "everything in moderation." So he only gets bits of different foods.

Boy do I have a feeling that would cause a disaster at my home!

I agree, I don't put in too much, maybe a spoonfull every now and then.

Our herd loves cottage cheese and we give it to them now and then.

Re: Cottage Cheese...yes or no?

Thanks, everyone! I really need to get some pics up of our "little" girl...I swear some days when I let her out of her crate, she has grown overnight...either that, or her crate rests on top of a nuclear toxic waste dump...:)
