Bil-Jac Frozen Food

Any thoughts on this food?

It was suggested to me as a way to put some weight on Chopper. I will be adding it to his current food, Innova.

He is a very picky eater and seems to be getting more skinny every day. (He has been tested for worms).

How much Innova is he eating now? I would add some regular raw ground beef to his kibble. Ground beef has fat and protein and will add some weight. You could also cook up some pasta or oatmeal and add to his kibble...very good way to put on weight.

Are you sure it's nothing else? Have you had him to the vet for a check up and blood work up?
Very unusal for a healthy adult Rottweiler to be loosing weight...and not be interested in food.

What are the ingredients of the frozen Bil-Jac? If I remember right..I was not impressed with their dry food.

Re: Bil-Jac Frozen Food

I feed him 4 cups a day, he eats maybe 2 cups.

The pasta or oatmeal sounds like a great idea, I will try that.

I have never seen a dog this uninterested in food in my life. Even when I feed him chicken or something like that he will eat it, but very slowly, completly unlike my other dogs that SCARF food down.

He has not had a blood test. I suppose that should be the next step. He went to the Vet last week and had a fecal test that came back clear.
The Vet did not seem to concerned, but then again I am looking for a new Vet because I am not too impressed with my current one.

I don't remember the exact ingredients, but I was not overly impressed either......I just want some weight on him and am looking at all options.
