Hill's Prescription Diet

Hey guys... probably answered this already. My 15 wk old pup had 1 weeks of very loose stool. We tried the rice/beef and chicken, pepto, even a tiny bit of immodium. Helped for a bit, but she kep havign pudding stools. She was thriving still, gaining about 300grams/day. Finally I had to take her to the vet. Stool came back fine, the vet even said.. If I didn't tell him that she had the runs, he would have never known. 1 day of Flagyl, and Hills Prescription Diet and she is back to normal. I am suposed to feed her this canned stuff for 10 days, any opinoins? There is only 6.5% protein. 10 days seems long for such a protein difficient diet... any comments? Thanks.

Re: Hill's Prescription Diet

Keep her on the I/D. You have to let her system recover and the bland diet is key.

Keep her on the I/D for the 10 days...see how things go.
What have you been feeding your puppy before this tummy upset? You may want to change the quality of the food.

Re: Hill's Prescription Diet

Keep on the bland diet, it will give the pups stomach time to settle down.

EVO is not recommended for puppies and Canidae is an excellent all life stages food.
