Turkey Gizzards?

I noticed my grocery store has big packs of turkey gizzards and they were really inexpensive. Does anyone know if these are okay to give the dogs as a treat? I'm thinking I'd just boil and chop them?

Re: Turkey Gizzards?

Absolutely!!!!!! I bake them at 350 for 20 minutes or so and then cut them up. Bastian LOVES them and all the other dogs in our agility class love when they get one too. You could also boil them I'm sure.

Re: Turkey Gizzards?

We give them to Julius with no problem. We don't boil them however. They're just fed raw to Julius. Although, I do not feed anything but the turkey gizzards to Jules. Any other turkey he gets is ground.

Re: Turkey Gizzards?

We give them to Brodie raw also. He doesn't get them very often, only when we have turkey or when we have chicken he gets the gizzards too.

Re: Turkey Gizzards?

Raw works great... but if you're using them for training you may want to cook/boil them first (like Bastianboy suggested). No one wants to keep raw gizzards in their pocket or training pouch (YUCK).
