analyze this food please

this is what my dad feeds his dog and we used to feed Bear. The ingredients start with meat but I get confused with the chemical names . Is this a substandard food? If so, why? Their is also a Lamb and Rice version.
I scanned part of the package so I didn't have to type it all out. I hope this works, its the first time I have used a webpage to post a photo.

crud. Well I will tell you what it is, I was being sneaky (kinda). I wanted opinions on ingredients, but anyway its Kirkland Signature (Costco) Because its store brand I'm turned off by it but anyway I will try to get a pic up, I'm refusing to type it all out.

Re: analyze this food please

My sister feeds it to her Aussie's and they do fine on it. Nice firm poop, plenty of energy, nice coats etc. As has been stated here before, if you dog does well on any given food, then that is the bottom line.

Re: analyze this food please

Just type in the first 5-10 ingredients. Or look it up on the internet, I'm sure that Kirkland must have a website.

Believe me I tried. They have a website, just not for their food.

Here's the first chunk before it starts getting into chemical names:
Chicken, Chicken meal, whole grain brown rice, cracked pearl barley chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and Vit E), egg product, beet pulp, potatoes, fish meal, flax seed, natural flavor, brewer dried yeast, millet, carrots, peas, kelp, apples, dried skim milk, cranberries, powder.........

I know, but I want to feed quality too.If its at least comparable to Nutro (which I think it is, less carb ingredients) we may put Jake on it if he agrees with it. We just can't afford Canidae now as much as I would like to believe. They sell it right next to Iams and Eukanuba. I don't know if that's good or bad.

Re: analyze this food please

If my memory serves me correctly the kirkland signature is made by Diamond. not sure if it's the same exact stuff in the Diamond, I've honestly never read the ingredients on the Kirkland.

I know the l&r is comparable to the Diamond L&R. Also not sure if the food is made by the same manufacturer store to store..I would assume it is.

Re: analyze this food please

About 6 years ago I looked into the Costco brand and realized it was about the same ingredients as Eukanuba... so I stopped feeding it... Don't know what the ingredients are now.
