HELP!! No More Aunt Jeni's!!!

Hey All,
Those of you who have purchased your tripe through Aunt Jeni's might know now that they are no longer selling tripe =-( I was wondering if you guys know of anywhere online that has as good of prices and the same quality of product.

Let Me Know!

Re: HELP!! No More Aunt Jeni's!!!

You know, I just got off the phone with them and found out the same thing! I am so distressed; I have been searching for somewhere else to get it ever since and am not having too much luck. I did go to greentripe.com, but they want you to mail them a check, they don't do credit cards, and I need it pretty quickly. They have some interesting things available along with the tripe, so I might try them next time, if I can find something now. Oma's pride also carries it, but they have no distributor in my area and the company wasn't sure if I could have a small portion shipped just to me yet, they needed to check on it.

I will let you know if I find anything else.

Re: HELP!! No More Aunt Jeni's!!!

....& greentripe.com's shipping prices are crazy. If we ordered the 45 lb. box (not that we want that much tripe), it would cost us around $66 to ship it. We're going to be looking into something else or possibly have to buy local. But I remember when we checked the last time that the prices were sky-high for tripe. So we'll see....

We'll let ya know if we find out anything as well....

Re: HELP!! No More Aunt Jeni's!!!

Aunt Jeni's was great. I hate that they are not going to be carrying it any longer. They told me that the “USDA wants green tripe to be denatured (colored or charcoaled) to distinguish it from human food. We are no longer able to get it without denaturing and therefore will not be able to carry it anymore.”

Like someone could mistake that smell for something they would want to eat, yuk!!!

Soooo true! Blech! I got some on my hands the other day & spent 10 minutes at the sink scrubbing my hands to get the stench off.

Okay, I am going to order from these people: http://aplaceforpaws.com/index.html You can order cooler sizes to fit orders of eight(8), twelve(12), twenty-four(24) and forty-eight(48)pounds and here are the prices for the tripe. You can't see shipping until you place the order but you are in their 1 to 2 day shipping range.

1# container - $2.00

2# container - $3.70

1# containers(24# or more) - $1.80

2# containers(24# or more) - $3.30

50#-packaged in 5# bags - $66.00

Re: HELP!! No More Aunt Jeni's!!!

I get tripe from A Place for Paws when they're at the large dog shows. I call my order in advance and then pick it up at the show. Perhaps call and ask if they may be attending a show in your area soon? My last order was in December and I still have 2 full 2lb tubs in the freezer! They also sell the dog "salami" which is an awesome training treat. I've used it in school and have gotten great attention from ALL of the dogs in class!
Best wishes -
kathy

Anyone in the PA Ohio area are lucky. The best green tripe (according to my dogs) is found at http://www.hare-today.com/ Once my dogs tried the tripe from Hare Today Gone Tomorrow they don't want any other.
