Wellness Senior ??

Anyone use this dog food. I have always feed Sasha Wellness Super 5 Chicken Mix with no problems. She is 5 years old now and less active so I think it may be time to change to a Senior dog food.

I use Wellness Chicken , how about rather than going to the Senior blend you just feed a bit less of your current????

I am sure the Senior is of the same high quality and the regular but have not used it.

Re: Wellness Senior ??

Personally, I wouldn't consider switching without a specific reason. For instance, how's her weight?

She is 100lbs and that is the heaviest she has ever been. I am worried about her hips so I would like to trim her down a little bit. She seems to have some mild arthritis in her hips and is a little slower getting up lately.

We feed Wellness; rotating between the three meat formulas. I am very happy with the food.

How much are you feeding her now? Instead of switching, why not cut back, say, 1/4 cup each meal, and see how she does?

Re: Wellness Senior ??

actually I have probably been over feeding her. SHe has always eaten 2 cups in the morning and 2 at dinner. She's always been really skinny so I fed her that and she would always eat it all. I'll cut back now that she is bigger to 3 cups per day instead of 4.

Re: Wellness Senior ??

If she still acts hungry, add a few canned green beans, or a little canned pumpkin, or some extra protein. But cutting back some at her age ought to do the trick, before trying senior food.
