| Update: Should Groomers Be Allowed To Express Anal Glands! This thread was started on my behalf because I have been really busy with work (November & December are my busiest months of the year.....Januray has been dedicated to taxes). I have been unable to keep up with posts on this forum like I should. http://www.rottweiler.net/forums/showthread.php?t=31988&highlight=anal+glands I just wanted to thank everyone who gave advise on this issue. I have not and will not ever take my "Tiny" back to a groomer. My mistake. I did ask for a "bath only" but full works is what I got. I learned my lesson the hard way unfortunately. I work 6 days a week and normally bath "Tiny" on my day off. I use the tailgate of my truck so that I can stand upright due to back injury received in a car accident several years ago. However, when it started getting cold in December, I did not think this was a good idea for me or for my "Tiny". I initially asked my vet to bath him but they do not offer this service and and decided to try the groomer next door to the vet's office. I have since found a vet who does offer this service who is also conveniently located on my way to work. I will be taking my "Tiny" there for his baths when it is cold outside from now on. It has worked out great because this vet also checks him out for any health issues while he is there so its like having two experts to watch over my "Tiny" now. However, it does not stay cold in Texas for very long so we will soon be back to our normal routine anyway. But next winter......."Tiny" will be in good hands!! :D Thanks again to everyone but especially to the one who started this thread on my behalf. She has been the next best thing to me since I have not had adequate time to spend reading these forums. TRUTH BE TOLD I HAVE HAD TIME TO READ TO READ A FEW THREADS......PROBLEM IS I GET STARTED READING AND CAN'T STOP........then my work doesn't get done. :( So I had to put myself on restriction so to speak.

| Re: Update: Should Groomers Be Allowed To Express Anal Glands! Around here all of the Petsmart/Petco places have self grooming too. They provide the facilities such as the tub and table and you do all of the grooming. Maybe there is something like that down there if you like to do your grooming yourself?

| Re: Update: Should Groomers Be Allowed To Express Anal Glands! Hi Lisa! Great you found another vet that suits your needs. I'm glad Tiny is feeling better! And I know he is looking better.... :D Much Higher spirits last few visits. Remember if he isn't rolling around in your horses poopoo he probably could go most of the winter without a bath........ :D Just a good brush to dust him off should be enough. Unless my dogs get muddy or into something I usually only bathe them every few months. Let me know how you like the new vet and I may check it out. I have never went that way to-wards Huntsville to see if their was a vet that way. I'm still keeping mine in Humble/huffman an hour away on stand by because I haven't found one I'm totally comfortable with yet closer...... Wookies mom the petsmart closest to us is about an hour drive. Possible 30 if you drive like me..... :D And they do not offer self bath. We have a super small petco about 15 minutes away but they don't offer self bath either. Really small store.... ;) Quote:
