Growth

when you say 10 lbs per month is that an average ? when does the 10 lb slow down? because if it's average I sure dont see to many rotts at 100+ at 12monthes. Can someone shed some light to this for me thanks so much in advance

The old rule of thumb which I was taught was 10lbs per month, until 7-9mos, then they slow down.

That's also what I understand it to be. BUT if your pup doesn't add 10 pounds per month don't worry. Some dogs have different growth patterns then others. Some may grow more in their first 6 months while others will catch up and add more weight in the latter 6 months. You would get a better idea of a dogs potential by looking at the parents and grandparents.

Re: Growth

usually after there about 9 months old they go into what i call the lanky stage of growth.my rotties seem to have slowed down on weight gain and started getting taller and longer.making them look lanky.
