4 month old Eating 2 times a day?

Reno has been eating 3 meals a day ever since he was small and here the past 2 days he really hasn't been wanting that mid day meal He eats fine in the morning and at nite I have been training him also before he eats but he isn't getting that many treats during training to fill him up someone told me a few weeks ago that I could go ahead and change him over to 2 times a day but wanted to check here first he will be 5 months at the end of this month

There's no hard and fast rule on going to two meals, and many dogs decide the right time on their own. Sounds like he's telling you something.

I always offered Rakki three meals a day, and he's always pretty much ignored lunch. He's a two meal a day dog and has been since he was ten weeks old. If he won't each lunch, then he won't each lunch, there's no reason to insist on it. I feel pretty strongly about two meals a day as opposed to one, but I think you have to tailor things to the individual dog - my sister's dog still eats three meals a day at a year and a half (not least because he's a "hard keeper" and eats a LOT, and she doesn't want him eating too much in one go in case of bloat).

Rocco has eaten two meals a day since he was 9 weeks old because I work outside the home. He never had any problem with it.

Julius also phased the three meals a day out of his schedule at a young age. I would say maybe 5 months old...maybe even a bit younger then that. We would always offer him his dish around noon-time when I came home for my lunch-break & he would maybe eat a few pieces of kibble & then ignore the rest. We switched to a two time a day feeding schedule & he had no problem with it...

:)

We all worry about them, no matter how many of them we've owned in the past. Guess that's part of being a good parent. I would switch him over to 2 meals a day for the rest of his life now.

No worries...

Kash is 95lb. and skips breakfast every day. He eats once around 12:30 and again around 9:15 with a few treats and a bone or two in between. Don't worry about it, your dog is perfectly normal.
