| cleaning ears I clean Roxy's ears regularly, along with trimming the nails and brushing her teeth. I'm already working on the nails with the new pup, but am wondering about when I should start introducing him to having his ears cleaned. We have pads and also the squirt bottle type thing that i put on a cotton ball and clean that way. Diesel will be 10 weeks tomorrow. I'd like to start getting him used to this ASAP. I play with his ears and feet all the time. Thanks. |

| I see no reason you can't start now (do start with putting the solution on a cotton ball and not squirting it into his ears) - be gentle and patient, take it slowly, don't try and get both ears squeaky-clean at once, lots of treats and praise...you know the drill! :).

| That's what I was thinking I was looking in some of our books and couldn't find anything one way or the other. I want to get him started with it now. Roxy somehow knows when I going to do her nails or ears, she senses something even before I get out the supplies! She hides. We will start working with his ears tomorrow! |
