Has anyone heard of these?

I was reading a magazine called Puppies USA, they had some training articles in this magazine I wanted to read and came across a list of Food Guide(different brands, company name, addresses and 800#'s).
These brands are on the List, but never heard of them before, so I thought I'd ask is all.............

Anmar Growth-Natura Pet Products.
Diamond Pet Foods.
Country Perfection- O.H. Kruse Grain and Milling.
Canine Caviar, Inc.
The Pet Pantry.
Halo Purely for Pets.
I was just curious if anyone had ever heard of these brands/or makers before.
The ones I've heard of that is also mentioned on this List is...........
Canidae Pet Foods.
Royal Canin USA.
Heinz Pet Products.
Nutro Products, Inc.
Hill's Pet Nutrition.
Kal Kan.
Eagle Products, Inc.
Ralston Purina.
Iams.
Natural Balance.
Natura Pet Products.
Friskies.

Thanks for any input.

I knew you only wanted info about those foods. It was just odd that we hardly ever hear of a food like Diamond and now in one day it is mentioned twice. I didn't mean to sound accusatory there, sorry if it came out that way.

Rott_Wiley,

No problem here, just wanted to see if anyone had heard of these others is all.
The Vet. I work for makes fun of me...........every time someone comes into the Clinic with a Nutrition Question for their dog(s) I automatically mention Canidae.........HA!HA! He sells Hill's Products:p go figure, huh?!?!
I always keep a List of the "better" foods for K-9's handy for this purpose..........so mark Diamond off my List, huh?
I already have most of what has been mention as the "better" foods on my list, and always willing to add more options to this List.
Thats why I was asking about the foods/Companies in my first thread:D
And if there's any missing foods/brands that I could add, just let me know..........I like leading people in the right direction when it comes to their pets nutrition, careless what my boss thinks..........afterall he's marketing Hill's

If I am not mistaken, the Pet Pantry just had a big time recall due to beef from a Canadian supplier that had mad cow disease.

The concern was not that it would affect the dogs (they do not believe that would happen) but that it would be possibly passed on to those handling the dogs.

Here you go.
*****************************
Dog food recall announced

FDA has notified the US petfood firm, The Pet Pantry International, of Carson City, Nevada, it has learned that pet food the firm received may have included rendered material from the Canada's BSE positive cow. The manufacturer of the pet food is Champion Pet Food, Morinville, Alberta.

Even though there is no known risk to dogs from eating this dog food, as a prudent measure to help assure that the US stays BSE free, The Pet Pantry International is asking its customers who may have purchased the suspect product to hold it for pickup by the distributor so that the dog food will not mistakenly be mixed into cattle or other feeds if any of the dog food is discarded or otherwise not used to feed dogs.

The suspect dog food was produced by Champion Pet Food between February 4, 2003, and March 12, 2003.

The Pet Pantry products were packaged in 50 lb bags, distributed to franchises around the country, and sold by home delivery only. There was no retail distribution of the product. Consumers purchase Pet Pantry products by phone or email orders. The product is then delivered by the nearest franchisee directly to the consumer's home.

The product subject to this notification includes "Maintenance Diet" labeled with a use by date of "17FEB04" and "Beef with Barley" with a use by date of "05MAR04."

Consumers who have purchased dog food from The Pet Pantry since February of this year are asked to check their present supplies and see if any match the description of the product being removed.

If so, consumers are asked to contact The Pet Pantry at 1-800-381-7387 for further information on how to return the product to The Pet Pantry for proper disposal. Consumers are asked not to destroy or discard the product themselves. The Pet Pantry will also use its sales records to contact consumers who purchased the affected product.

FDA is working closely with the Pet Pantry International to assure for proper disposal of the recovered product.

FDA will continue to provide updates on this case of BSE in Canada as additional information becomes available.

Thanks!!!

For the info you found and informed me of:D
I just like having my Foods/Product Co. List up to date as often as I can keep it that way, makes me feel GOOD when I can direct one of the Client(s) at our Clinic in the "right/correct" direction when it comes to the Nutritional Needs of the K-9's;)
I wouldn't want them to feed something that could cause probs. later in the life of their pet(s).
And I consider it part of my job as a Veterinary Assistant to inform people of the better foods available and to show concern for their pet(s) Nutritional Needs.

What is everyones thought on Wysong(sp?) products, and should it be something to add to my List or not?
