Solid, then loose stools... what gives?

When my Diesel goes #2, the first half is solid, then the second half is usually pretty loose. What gives? He has been on Innova Puppy food, he gets 4 meals per day. Also I put a little warm water into the dry kibble for him, could this be the reason?
Should I maybe switch food?

Is this during a walk???

Just wondering because when we take Julius on a walk (he is eating Canidae) he will usually go poop about 3-4 times on average. The first one is solid, as is the second. And then by the third & fourth they're pretty loose. I actually posted on it not that long ago & they said it's pretty normal....especially for males.

:)

Nope not on a walk, just at the house. Diesel is only 9 weeks today and not to keen on passing a certain point in the driveway.
His diet is the exact same everyday, Innova 4 times per day, followed by an Innova Health Bisquit.
Sometimes its all solid, and sometimes its solid and the loose.
I have been doing searches on Diarrhea in the archives.

I have found , with my pups, that this often happens when they are getting just a smidge too much food. It usually straightens out after a growth spurt

My Bea was looking a tad thin a couple weeks back so I upped one meal 1/2 cup. She had that 1/2 and 1/2 poop for a couple weeks- then grew an inch and now has all solid poop again :)

Hmmmm, Diesel has been eating all his food and fast. Maybe he is in a growth spurt?

I would try giving him a little canned pumpkin (not the pie filling with spices), that should firm up his movements.

Just to let you know... my pup has had nothing but loose stools on Innova. There are days when it starts out firmer and then turns very loose at the end, but it just goes from bad to worse.

This actually sounds quite normal to me. I would not worry about it unless you have long periods of all loose or very soft stools.
