Sorry - Couldn't resist:

"...Give me a head with hair,
Long beautiful hair,
Shining, gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen,
Give me down to their ~ hair,
Shoulder length or longer,
Here, baby, there, momma, ev'rywhere, daddy, daddy,
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair.

Flow it, show it, long as God can grow it, my hair.
I let it fly in the breeze and get caught in the trees,
Give a home to the fleas in my hair,
A home for fleas (yeah)
A hive for bees (yeah)
A nest for birds,
There ain't no words for the beauty, the splendor,
The wonder of my
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair.
Flow it, show, long as God can grow it, my hair...."

:) No matter how much I brush, the hair continues to fall..... I've learned to enjoy the need to frequently sweep the floors!

Vacuuming has just become a part of the routine at my house. Everyother day I vacuum the house and Payton:D On non-vacuum days we brush. The birds love it, There are black nests all over the back yard:D

I purchased the BEST cordless vacuum cleaner by Shark... it is a lifesaver. I use it every day, My male Rottie use to bite at it and bark. Anyway, this was a life saver and really helps. I bought mine at Bed Bath and Beyond. Best $65.00 I ever spent!

Don't forget to vacuum along floorboards, doorwalls, cabinets(even in the bathroom), large unmoveable pieces of furniture, and any where else that fur may collect unnoticed.

My rotteiler sheds more then my collie ever did.

Give him a bath

Sometimes, giving them a bath will help. I used to get my Aussie Cattle Dog groomed twice a year. Spring and Fall. She'd shed like crazy for 2 - 3 days afterwards, but then it subsided to something managable.

A good bath, shampoo twice, conditioner and a very thorough rinsing. Massage a lot, really get in there.

Parker recently blew his coat due to going under anesthetic. It was horrible for a few days and now he's better than before. :)

It won't stop the shedding, but it might help to get it under control.

Of course a healthy coat is always helpful - so a good diet is a requirement. But any dog going through any stress, surgery, heat, etc. will shed more; regardless of your actions.
