I have a 11 1/2 month female Rott...she is blowing her coat but her undercoat is now visible...when does that light brown undercoat go away?

It should not. The Rottweiler standard calls for an undercoat:

Coat

Outer coat is straight, coarse, dense, of medium length and lying flat. Undercoat should be present on neck and thighs, but the amount is influenced by climatic conditions. Undercoat should not show through outer coat. The coat is shortest on head, ears and legs, longest on breeching. The Rottweiler is to be exhibited in the natural condition with no trimming.

Fault--Wavy coat.

Serious Faults--Open, excessively short, or curly coat; total lack of undercoat; any trimming that alters the length of the natural coat.

Disqualification--Long coat.

I think the original poster meant when will the undercoat stop showing through the outercoat.... which apparently it has just started doing since her dog "blew coat".

correct....her black coat is shedding off ( we live in Florida)
so her undercoat is showing...
I guess the questions is
is that normal ? or should I be concerned?
of course I see other dogs her age and they do not have the same problem.
thanks for any advice ( I'm a new Rott owner)

Well, I live in Central Florida and my rotties don't have this condition. They do shed or blow their coat twice a year. Sometimes that seems to last for six months -- No, kidding! Their coats get considerably thinner in the hotter months but they always have a shiny healthy black coat all year round.

Did you get this dog from a local breeder? Could you ask them if they have seen this in their line?
