| making the switch to BARF Ok. After some intensive research, I'm going to switch my dogs diet to BARF. I currently give her a mix of BARF and other cooked assortments, and I want to make the switch, but I'm wondering how should I do it. Should it be gradual? Do I need to give some other supplements? There is an abundant of info available but I want to hear from peoples' personal experience. Cheers

| When I switched my dogs over to raw, they were on kibble. I switched gradually by giving chicken necks and/or wings in the morning and gave them their kibble in the evening. To be honest, I don't remember how long it took to switch over. It would depend on how each dog was handling the switch. I only started with chicken necks and wings at first to get them used to it. I slowly started adding other types of meat, then finally the ground veggies. The only supplements I gave right away were probiotics. After they settled into their new diets, I started to add vit. C, powdered kelp, alfalfa, and alternating fish oil with flax oil. I would think the supplements you add, if any, would depend on what type of meaty bones and veggies (if any) you're feeding. Hope this helps :)
