My puppy is currently around 23lbs, and is feeding on nuturo natural large puppy, how much should I feed her daily?? The bag has no chart on it, which I found a little odd. Could use some help!!

Thanks,
Rob

How much are you feeding now? Remember those are only guidelines.

Maybe just a tad more then 3 cups. She doesnt seem to eat too much, if I put 2 cups in her bowl she'll eat some, then come back a few hours later and eat some more. She doesnt just eat what I give to her!! LOL

Rob, you are feeding her twice a day, aren't you? I would consider feeding her 3 times a day if you can. You didn't say how old she is but if she's 23 lbs I would be feeding 3 meals a day now and as she gets older feed twice a day.

and...

I wouldn't leave food in her bowl for more than 5 minutes. If the food isn't all gone by then, put the food away until the next feeding time.

I wouldn't pick up the food after only 5 minutes, especially with a puppy. If the food isn't eaten in 20 minutes I pick it up and put it in the trash. Dry food left out can grow molds that are very harmful for the dog.

If there's a lot of food left over after 20 minutes, you're probably feeding too much.

Ok...maybe 10 minutes, but I've not seen them need more than 5.
Also, I should have said: the few times I've had to pick the food up, it goes into an airtight container and goes in the fridge until next meal time.

The food can stay down for 10-15 minutes. You do NOT have to throw it out. If the food is fed dry with nothing on it, then it can be given at the next meal time.

You could also add a tbs. of natural plain yogurt, or a tbs. of canned food to encourage your dog to eat.
