Flacky skin/dandruff

Within the past three weeks I have had to give my rotty boy Duce two baths because of all the mud he has gotten into. After the first bath i noticed a bit of dry skin whenever we would pet or brush his coat. After the second bath the dry skin condition is much worse and you can visibly see white specks on his coat. My question to all you is...Do you know of a shampoo that will not dry out the skin or help moisten dry skin? Presently I am using Johnsons baby shampoo just because I get it for a discount at work. Any suggestions would be helpful.

:)

Do a search on dandruff. There are alot of previous threads on this issue. We use an oatmeal based shampoo, but they still get dry skin and dandruff.:p

Don't use human shampoo, it's very drying to dogs' skin - use very dilute dish soap or diluted dog shampoo. Make sure you're rinsing very well, often dandruff is caused by soap being left on the skin and drying it out. And try to use plain water to get rid of mud and things rather than giving a soap bath.
