| Dirty Boy! I was taking my boy out for his afternoon walk, and we crossed a man with a boston terrier pup.:) So I thought it would be a good time for them to meet, they got along beautifully! ( the man that owned the boston was surprised because his dog doesn't like many dogs):D Anyways bone head decided to flop in the middle of the mud puddle,(we had a good laugh!) so a bath is now the answer, but he has a show this weekend(F U N MATCH) and last time I bathed him it took a week for the hair to come down. I know the show should have some conditioner is anytype any one suggests.( The ones at the pet stores say it will soften his coat) What would you suggest if the hairs still won't come down, basically on his rump it is like cowlicks. Thanks Karen |

| After you bathe him, use a brush and a hair dryer, keep brushing (going with the direction of the hair) until he is dry. That should dry the hair so it lays down correctly. If he has a bunch of "fuzzies" you can always put some mousse on it before brushing & drying, that may help it to lay down. If it's puppy coat, he will outgrow it as his adult coat comes in. Conditioners will soften it and will probably cause it to spring up even more! :p Sharon Marples

| If his coat was clean before the mudbath, I would just use plain water--no shampoo, no conditioner. Chanci gets muddy daily in the winter and I only use shampoo if her coat gets oily or sticky.

| There's a lot of conditioners and texturizers available for bathing a show dog prior to being shown. Depending on your dogs coat is what you'd look for in them, oily, dry, etc. We've always had good luck with Ring 5 products here. One of the many places to look for these products is: http://petsupplyhouse.com/doginfo/do...ers/index.html |

| A fun match is very unlikely to have vendors. When he is dry, use a stiff brush and brush well. That will remove most of the dirt. You can then wipe with a wet towel and should be just fine. Remember, this is a fun match, nothing is riding on it. He is there to learn and have a nice time. |
