| Re: What do you feed your dog and why? I feed my crew Canidae but I also supplement with other meat, some raw some cooked, organic yogart, eggs and left over veggies. Beef, salmon once a week, lots of venison, chicken, duck or game birds or what ever else we have around. ( it helps having hunters in the family) I do not have any picky eaters, but I do have one that I have to watch the fat intake on. I have a hard time finding the time to spend on their coats, but everyone always asks what I feed them, as they are very shiney and in great condition. You just have to figure out what works for you and your dog!

| Re: What do you feed your dog and why? I started my rescue on Pro Plan. P.U.!!! We moved on to Nutro Natural Large Breed. Great results except for the fact she gained 6 # over the winter, due to our weather not being compatible with consistent exercise. I then moved her to a "weight management" formula by Nutro.(On her Vet's advice). Results were bulky stools, and a dog looking for any stray kibble bits of her former food. Her coat looks great, but the increase in her stool volume is staggering since we stayed with the same manufacturer I did not anticipate alot of changes. Looking at other foods now.... | Re: What do you feed your dog and why? we feed canidae because the price is right and was only a dollar or two more than the nutro natural we were buying. maverick does ok on it. no complaints really except for some dry skin (which i've tried to remedy with fish oil to no avail). i've thought of switching to innova just to see how he does on it. my trainer sells it and if it's the same price as canidae, i might give it a go.

| Re: What do you feed your dog and why? I feed ours a raw diet. They have done very well since we made the switch last summer. When we first got Akasha everyone was on Nutro Natural. We then switched everyone to Innova but had alot of problems with loose stools. After we switched everyone to raw the loose stools stopped and we have had no more problems. All four of our dogs have thrived on the raw. The changes in our 14 yo Poodle have been amazing. I thought we were going to have to put him down last year. After switching him to raw he is a totally different dog. He has sooooo much more energy and has actually gained weight. I know that raw is not for everyone, but I have been very pleased with the results we have seen. ;)

| Re: What do you feed your dog and why? I feed Eagle Pack and my dogs look awesome. The only one who gets any kind of supplements is Tucker since he is actively showing. I add Missing Link to his kibble. This is a recent addition so it's still too early to tell whether I am just throwing money away or not. That's one of the things I like about Eagle products. You aren't supposed to have to supplement. If I have to start adding this and adding that then I may as well go to a full RAW diet -but doG knows I am just too lazy to "cook" :D Not to mention the humans around here would get very jealous if I cook for the dawgs and not them! :D

| Re: What do you feed your dog and why? I feed Caesar Techni-Cal brand dog food. I was told to look for a dogfood that contained a low fibre and high protein content. His coat is gorgeous and he is in excellent health(according to the vet)!! |

| Re: What do you feed your dog and why? We feed Sabre and Cody Innova.. while pricey,($40 for a 27 pound bag) but it is worth it we have not had ANY yeast/ear infections since starting it and the paw licking/chewing has dramatically decreased. Their coats are sooo shiney.

| Re: What do you feed your dog and why? I feed my dog Natural Balance. I have never heard of anyone else using this food. So many people have stated their opinions on great food, that I have a really hard time deciding if I should change foods or what. There is only one known pet store that carries the food we feed her, but it was at the top of the list of foods that, by contract, we have to make sure we feed her, so we thought it was the best. Grr...now I have to research foods, cuz I don't mind putting out more money (this stuff is already expensive) for a good food. Her coat is AWESOME, she gets so many compliments on how shiny it is, but I honestly don't think she likes it all that much. She eats it to be full, but I'd like her to ENJOY her food too, ya know? Anybody else even HEARD of Natural Balance?

| Re: What do you feed your dog and why? I feed Avo Derm mixed with Evanger's canned meat (100% - either chicken or beef) and add in veggies (usually carrots and broccoli). I had been planning on feeding California Natural - but the store where I buy their food said they had had some problems with the way Cal Natural was stored by the distributor in the summer, and that some of the bags ended up with mold. Avo Derm was close in ingredients - so I went with it. So far so good! |

| Re: What do you feed your dog and why? Quote:
for road trips with Cooper, but he's always had raw & even too many cheapo dog treats (he mooches lots when we visit the pet store) give him gas & diarrhea. Not a happy thing for long road trips!Barleys, nothing wrong with lean Rottweilers! All my dogs are really trim, and Daphne's ribs are visible (barely.) She's absolutely healthy - the dogs get a CBC done every year - so I figure it's better to be on the thin side. :)

| Re: What do you feed your dog and why? The Breeder Im getting my puppy from just started him on 'Purina One Growth and Development Puppy food'... I made sure I could find this here and he will tell me how he does with it. He will also send me pics and weigh-in's when he takes him to the vet. Angie |
