There are also 100% dried liver treats out there, which most dogs love, and which aren't bad for them. You want to look for ones which don't have additives, which are just liver.

There are lots of good things you can use as treats as long as you don't use so much you displace the balanced meals. Treats. I don't give treats to dogs (even little pups) just because they are breathing in and out. I only use them as a reward or in the case of the very young lure during training. I do not want to devalue the treat. If you are using a treat for training the best kind is one that does not need chewing with crumbs falling that change the focus from you to scarfing things off the ground or that you have to wait while the dog deals with the treat. That means the best treats are soft that can be taken and swallowed quickly even while in motion. Little pieces of liver brownies, string cheese, etc.

Thanks for the tips! I have heard about using treats that do not create crumbs....& I do think that's a good idea. Thanks again. You all gave me good suggestions! Keep your fingers crossed. My boyfriend is trying to fix our scanner....and hopefully soon I'll have pictures to show off in the Chit Chat Section of Julius! :D Brooke
