Steady weight from 6 to 9 months is it OK?

My rottie has the same average weight since he was 6 months up to 9 months. (only 3 kgs weigher) Is it OK? In my opinion he has a good slim body now. He was very fat when he was 4 mo, and he had a leg limping problem. :(
Should I give him more portion of meals as he has grown up? I've been fed him the same amount since he was 7mo because of the weight range instruction from the bag of Canidae. And I don't want him to be the fat monster anymore.

I think slow , steady growth is the best. How much does your dog weigh right now??
Canidae is an excellent food and does make the dog gain slowly.
If your dog is on the slim side ...this is best.

It's hard to judge without seeing him...if he is slim, but not skinny, then maybe he's just hit a plateau in growth. Some dogs mature much slower than others, maybe he's just a late bloomer! It does seem the growth rate slows way down at about 6 months old.

You could try increasing his food by half a cup maybe, and see how he does - by the way, I think the recommendations on the bag are only a very rough guide. I have a 70lb dog who eats more than my two 100lb males, and an 85lb very old dog who eats less than all of them.

Thank you for your nice respons. :)

He is now 33,5 kg (around 75 lbs), I can feel his ribs but I can't see them (maybe because of his wavy coats??)
Is it possible for growing puppies to gain weight if the portion of the meals not increased?? (with assumption at the same activity level)

These are the pictures of him I took on Feb 1st, his 9 months birthday.

Diego with his happy smiling face after chewing his blanket.

Beautiful Boy!

He looks healthy to me!!
If it makes you feel better, my bitch was gaining 10 lbs a month up until around 6 mnths. That has definately slowed as she has gained 5 lbs a month the last 2 mnths or so....

He looks great!

He might just be a slow maturing dog - I think if he gets at least the minimum required food, he will continue to grow as that is genetically programmed.

Cooper was about 85lbs at 9 months. Now he is a little over 100lbs at two years old - his parents were both very large (within standard though, both titled) and we expected him to get larger. I love his looks though, he just stopped gaining weight early!

Thank you

Thank you for your nice compliments... :)
I hope the food I give him would be more than the minimum requirement food. :D
His parents are taller and larger than him. He is now approximately only 3/4 of his mother size.

Johnny is now around one year old, he was 86 lbs I think a month or more. He looks pretty much like your dog, everyone is telling me that he is so slim, iwould rather keep him slim than dysplastic. You have a very nice boy there, what is his height??

Johnny is 25.3 Inchs

Johnny is a slim handsome boy!
Diego was a fat monster, he gained 10 kgs in one month when he was 5 mo, that made me put him on a strictly diet!! Now I gave him a longer walk twice a day since he was not limping anymore, and I guess that makes him far slimmer.
I haven't measured Diego's height exactly. He's around 60 cm??

We have had Blaise now for 3 months and he has gained weight at 15 lbs per month and is now 75 lbs and 24 1/2" tall and is almost 8 months old. Is he going to slow down now in weight gain as he gets a little older?

Their growth rate drops considerably after 6-8 months, but I noticed that Johnny is gainng weight again these days he is 12 months old, I think that he has much more filling to do:)
