| How much to feed dry food?? I'm currently feeding BARF, I'm not sure that I can do that for long especially for the comming periiod as I'm going to be busy. I'm thinking of switching to dry food. The best I can get here in Egypt is Purina. The question is how much to feed?? The label says that according to my dog weight, I have to feed him about 4 cups per day, using 8 oz measuring cup. is the 8 oz here is a mass or volume measure??? If it is a mass measure, this means that my dog will get about one KG per day, is this right?? or it is a volume measurment?? Can I mix dry food with BARF sometimes?? Can I give BARF for one day per week for example??

| You can do both, just not in the same meal. I sort of semi-barf my guys. They get kibble in the morning and chicken backs in the evening. If you do something like that, cut the kibble amount in half because the other half of the days rations will be barf. Two cups morning and night might be a good starting point if that's what you want to do. I only feed one cup in the morning but I'm feeding a better quality kibble. |

| The measure is volume, not mass. Like any other feeding, the amounts are guides for starting out so observe your dog. The back of the sack has illustrations showing the outlike of too thin, too heavy and correct weight. Pup's food needs change often and actually decrease at a certain point, then increasing again. He'll be fine. |

| Thanks for all replies. So I think that 4 cups using 8 ounce cup means about 1 liter volume, am I right?? I also want to know how much does it last with you a 2 KG pack for your dog (on average). Thanks

| I'm sorry that I can't help you with this as I have always been feeding more than one dog and with them each eating different amounts I have not way to judge. Not sure of the conversion, but a 40 pound bag should last you about 5 weeks at a good guess. |

| Now I think I got it. Here is what I'm going to do, I'm going to feed dry food at morning may be in half of the prescribed amounts and I'm goping to give Chicken wings annd backs at the evening, this will be my main diet and I think that one day per week I'm going to give ground beef muscle meat or whatever diferent from the above. In Egypt it is hard to get a premium quality dog food, so I have to choose between, Purina and pedigree. I think that I'll use pedigree, which I think will be fine with the other BARF meal. Any ideas, any comments, please I'm waiting.

| I used to feed one dog 3 cups (3x8=240zs) per day. I bought the food in 40 lb bags (18KG, I think), and one bag would last five weeks. I hope this is helpful. |

| Great, Thanks for youe reply. What do u all think of this diet, Pedigree with chicken wings?? I know that Pedigree is nit the best to get, but this is what I have here in Egypt! So do you think that this will be a balanced diet?? By adding the chicken wings I think that I compensate the missing parts in the Pedigree diet!!?? right??
