price of canidae

i have always used nutro large breed and do think it is a great food both my dogs have a very shiny coat and nice clear eyes. however i hear you guys talk about canidae so much so i looked into trying it out called my only local vendor and she gets $38.99 for a 40lb bag now when i buy 40lbs of nutro its 28 and i thought that was kind of high and with 2 rotties at 2 feedings a day a bag only lasts 2 weeks. i would be interested in trying canidae after what i hear on this website but everybody also talks about price does this price sound right or is this lady just making an incredible mark up. if so what should it cost and where do local maryland people pick there food up at.

I get canidae for $37 for a 40lb bag, so it doesn't sound like it's too far off. Remember - you won't have to feed as much canidae as you do nutro, so the bag will last longer and it will end up being the same price. :)

I pay $32 for a 40lb bag. I no longer have my rottie :(, but may be getting another girl soon. 40 lbs last me about 3 months for my 2 30-40 lbs dogs.

The retail price of canidae is 29.99, You can order it online for 29.99 of course with shipping that goes up a bit. I was lucky enough to find a woman in my area who makes her income off dog boarding and training, she sells canidae because she just wants to offer people in our city a better choice, so she doesnt mark it up she sells it for 29.99 plus tax which comes up to about $31 and some change with one 10 month old male and one 10 week old female a 40lb bag lasts me a little less then a month.

I'm no where near Maryland, but I'll share the cost of Canidae here in Salt Lake City.

The place I get my Canidae from doesn't have 40 lb bags.

Instead they sell it in 20 lb. bags and the cost is about 22.00 with tax.

i just started feeding maverick canidae. i pay $30 for a 40 lb. bag (including tax). i have to drive 20 miles one way to get it, but it's still cheaper than the nutro natl large breed puppy food i used to buy right down the street for 32.99 plus tax.

I pay $38/40 lbs. That's here in Charlotte, NC. When we were in Buffalo. NY we were paying $29/40 lbs. Worth the money no doubt. He's been on it for just about a year and he's doing great on it. I can't say enough about his improvment but then again he was on Iams large breed prior to Canidae.:o

I have just started to use Canidae again after several years of using Innova. I like Innova just fine, just looking for a cheaper, just as good, food. Before I couldn't get a steady supply. Now I have found two places that are about 20 miles from my house- one is on the way to work so it is easy. The regular Canidae at both places is about $28 not including tax(8.75%) for 40 pounds. The senior formula is the same price, $28 for a 35 pound bag at the place on the way to work, while it is $36 at the other place. That is the same price per pound as Innova senior. I refuse to support the expensive store's senior pricing. Fortunately my dogs are not too bothered by food changes so they have been doing everyother bag Canidae, Innova while I figure out the cheaper store's delievery schedule.

Canidae in my area of MD is $36.00 plus tax, so it's about $38.00.

I don't know how much you all feed of it, but I feed the same as I'd done with another premium kibble. 4.5 cups a day plus added 1 c. a day of cooked chicken and extra homemade chicken broth. My dog is very lean, muscular and fit if looks and activity level and health count. I wouldn't feed less Canidae per se - each dog requires something differently. Also, I think a lot of dogs must be hungry on some of the small portions I see fed - the lowest being a miniscule 2 cups total! I fed that to a 40 pound puppy not an 87 to 100 pound adult dog.
