when to switch from puppy to adult

When should I switch Dru from her puppy food to adult food?

It has been a long time since I have had a puppy in the house, and would like people's opinions.

Thanks

My vet always told me at 4 months old to switch from puppy food to adult food. I am sure there are some people out there who would disagree and say 6 months.

What are you currently feeding? There are all life stage foods where no switch is involved. Wellness, Canidae and Precise plus are 3 of the all life stage food I am sure there are many more. :)

I feed males puppy food (26-28% protein and 16-18% fat) for 24 months and females 18 months. We currently feed Healthwise

Puppies need puppy food's mineral ratio, calorie to fat ratio etc. To keep the rapid growth from being a problem all you have to do is be responsible and keep your pup lean to a tad thin. You should be able to see the last rib. If you can't the pup is too fat

17 years of this and never any pano or ther growth problems at all. Ofcourse everyone and their brother has to tell me my pups are thin, but tough on them they are just used to seeing roly poly fat pups. Fat pups equal health problems NOT substance. I see a fat little pup and I don't see cute and healthy I see potential problems

Not one kibble of puppy food has ever passed the lips of any of my dogs......and it never will.

Adult food from day one.
