It's a toy. It's food. It's water.

Daisy treats it as all three and loves it. Nightly ritual that my husband gives her two cubes and he prepares his own nightly glass of water. Sometimes she swats it around the room, then pounces on it, other times it goes straight into her mouth.

My sister got a tray that makes ice bones for her Irish Setter. He absolutely loves his ice bones when it's hot outside (she got it for him because he loved ice cubes so much). Most pet stores have them and they're really inexpensive (it's just a plastic tray with a bone shape pressed into it). Most dogs love ice, I don't think there's anything wrong with giving it to them (I always worry that it's hard on their teeth but then I think about the other things they eat and stop worrying :p ).

You are in Florida! - It is hot hot! - When Bucky hears the door open he thinks it is FROSTY PAWS time. (Ice cream for dogs) - it's a good thing Bucky isn't spoiled (LOLOLOL) - Ice cubes are fine to me - just don't let them fill up on them in lieu of food cause their appetites go down in the heat - It was 100 degrees in Maryland today - Bucky had some hardshell crabs and is now relaxing in the A/C - it's a dogs life :) - Lisa (Bucky's Mom)

Bucky's Mom........not as hot as where you all are!! :D I haven't seen 100 degree weather in a long time. Sure heat index can get there, but actual........nope, not in a long, long time.

Speaking of ice cubes.....my dogs enjoy them (when I drop one on the floor as I'm getting it out of the freezer) but why is it that some dogs throw up as soon as an ice cube hits their tongue? Could it be the change in tempature?

My three love ice cubes! Lucky will throw the ice cube up in the air and when it lands she will pounce on it......rather funny!:) I like to give them all ice cubes during the hot part of the day.....maybe it helps cool them down.....;) ;)

Mya loves ice cubes, too!! When she hears me rustling in the ice cube tray, she will come running! First she likes to bat it around the floor for a while and chase it, then she will settle down and eat it!! It sure is funny to watch her!

It is hot as I don't know what here!

Cam would love to just curl up in the freezer if he could, but ice cubes are the next best thing!

throw up?

Hey JoJo.... does one of yours do that?

Pooh can take em or leave em. If Deiter learns how to open the freezer door, we will have an ice shortage, and no more venison.

Elisabeth, no, either one of my dogs can take 'em or leave 'em also. But Raja, Michelle's dog throws up if she puts one in her mouth. I just figure it's the sudden change in temperture.

Although Aussie doesn't care about Ice Cube's (or that rapper guys either) , Bear absolutly LOVES them! I can put 2 or 3 in her water bowl and she will happily fish them out. Leaving a nice puddle of water on the floor. It's allways fun to watch her blow bubbles with her nose while fishing for ice cubes! lol :D
