I asked about having Canidae shipped to me, and they said that the shipping fees would be about the same price as it is for one bag of Canidae... So I just opted to pay an extra few dollars instead of doubling the price. Caroline, I live on the East Coast of Canada. I was in Toronto in mid-May for a Sieger show, and i couldn't believe how cheap Canidae is up there!! I bought one bag, should have bought a few cause the store owner was willing to make a good deal with me...my hubby told me not to bother as we may need the money to get home in case of emergency:o

Canidae also has a breeder/kennel program too. The store owner in Toronto (actually New Market) told me about it....You need to gather 5 barcodes and receipts of purchased bags (depending on which you buy 20lb/40lb) to receive a free 20lb or 40lb bag.

Tazwick,

Did you ask the store owner about shipping? If so, of course the price would be doubled. I meant perhaps purchasing via the www. But silly me wasn't thinking you were talking about Canadian currency anyway, so you prob. get it for the same price that I pay anyway. :)

I tried the Nutro, and it gave Brita the runs. I just wanted to use the canned form to add a little variety to her diet.

In regards to other posts about what's in dog food, I used to work in the industry, so I know a little about what goes on. Contrary to popular believe, there is no widespread conspiracy to cheat the consumer. There are so many checks and balances by the feds and states, and there are so many spot checks and independent checks at the site, and there are so many off-the-shelf tests of the products, that it would be very difficult to cheat the system.

It's not rocket science at all, and I'm glad that someone brought it up. Cheaper feeds usually require you feeding more to the dog. Better feeds require less. And a lot of it depends on what your Rott likes and how he/she looks and feels. I've tried the recommended stuff, and Brita is allergic to something in those feeds. She likes Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy, and she's doing very well on it. I think it's good for the money, so that's how I made my decision.
