Improvement on Immune System

Could anyone offer advice on how to improve a Rotty’s immune system.

Madison is 7mo. old, she eats Canidae kibble, and she gets 500mg of vitamin C 2x a day. She gets cooked vegies when we eat them, about 3x week. And she gets raw ones when we prepare salads about 3x a week. On the seventh day we usually order pizza and she gets none of that.

I would like to try a more natural approach through diet, but if she needs a more complete vitamin, then what have you used and in what dosage?

Things to consider:
vaccinations - don't overdo, vaccinate what's necessary and try to titer to see if the dog is immune to a disease before injecting the whole package of vaccines.

diet - also very important, canidae is fine, try to add some raw meat and bones once in a while if you can, plain yogurt, veggies are better raw and pulverized, egg...

supplements - using good kibble like canidae you probably don't have to supplement much, vit c is fine, you may add some vit e.
Hope it helps.

We feed Elsa Canidae too. We feed her carrots and yogurt too. I sometimes chop up carrots and mix with yogurt and make a frozen kong for a nice treat! If Madison likes veggies anyway she might like that too!

Also, we give Elsa a supplement called NuVet Plus Canine. It's a combination of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. You can learn more about it on their website http://www.nuvet.com Our breeder first used it a few years back on one of her dogs who was getting up there in years and had cancer. She was so impressed with the improvement that she put all of her dogs on it and now strongly recommends that all of her owners put their pups on it as well.

Hope that helps! Tell Madison that Elsa says Hi!:D

She has two issues, both relating to her immunity or lack of.
Since I brought her home she's had puppy vaginitis; even a month after spaying it hasn't cleared up. The other problem is demodectic mange, which you diagnosed for me on a previous thread. (Thank you ;) ) She's had 2 dipping sessions and though it has not spread from it's original sight, the patch of hair is slow to come back.

I thought if I could help her immune system naturally then she could fight all these bugs herself. She looks as fit as a horse, and none of her problems seem to bother her as much as they bother me.

I hope I answered your question well enough.
