Joint Supplements

Hi all!!

I'm looking for some feedback from those of you who use joint supplements strictly as a preventative.

I respect those that say, as a preventative and/or if your feeding a good diet, it's a waste of time and should only be given if there is a need. However, I know many believe in supplementing just to promote healthier joints even if no problems are present and of those owners, I would like to know what products you are using on a daily basis?

Thanks ;)

Has anyone used NuVet products? They make a product called NuJoint with Glucosamine, Chron., MSM and Vit C and it's all human grade. My breeder uses them and I was thinking of doing the same, but there are so many products that, ingredient wise, look exactly the same that I wanted to hear from others as well :)

Joint products are great!!!!! Even with a good diet.

My Rott Rusty had degenerative joint disease in both knees. He had surgery to rebuild both. The joint products we've used worked wonders! I can tell the difference when he is not on them. We use products from Drs. Foster & Smith (don't have the exact name as I am at work). They have several different types. I like the one that is chewable. Rusty thinks they are treats!

My parents have a 9 year old Lab mix. She has arthritis. They use Bioflex (human product) on the dog & themselves. Their Vet & mine said it was great for that.

Hey neighbor :D I know of Drs. Foster and Smith products and have heard a lot of good things about them as well. I went ahead and ordered the NuJoint supplement and am going to give it a try. Thanks to all for the great info!!!

I use Ester C - Also NuPro (with Joint support) for my male who has joint problems... as well as giving them carrotts twice a day - I am looking at trying the K-9Liquid though...

It took me a long time to use such products because my vet told me it was not advisable to use supplements for rotties!!!

I think the K9 liquid is one of the best products out there!! If I hadn't decided to stick with the NuVet products, I would have put Sammy on it. I know some say they mix it in with yogurt instead of putting it on the dry kibble and their dogs seem to like it! Let me know if you try the K9 liquid and how it works for you.

Please make sure that whatever liquid suppliment you use is AS GOOD and AS NATURAL as K9 Liquid Health.

There are a lot of suppliments out there that have Glucosomine/Chondroitin, MSM and Manganese.....but also contain corn syrup, dyes and colorings...

K9 Liquid Health.....DOES NOT.

Their website at www.liquidhealthinc.com has a "store-finder". Type in your zip code or nearby zip codes and it gives you a list of stores that carry their products. I found a feed store (not a pet store) near me that carries it.

GLUCOSAMINE

Has anyone ever seen the human version of a drug cost LESS than the one for their dog ????? The reason I ask is my 8 yr. old rescued Rott. was beginning to have severe joint problems and I began her on Glucosamine from my vet. at 30 day supply for $22. just out of curiosity one day I asked my local (small town) pharmacist if he could get it Now I am getting a 60 day supply from him for $ 8.97. I AM REALLY CONFUSED !
