UPDATE on the Skinny Skinny Rescue Boy

I just thought I would give you all an update on Moose. He came here on Dec 4 weighing 82lbs and the Vet said he needed to gain at least 38 lbs. Then we would discuss if he needed more. Well, we just came from the Vets (he was neutered today) He has gained 12 lbs 1 oz... Vet is pleased with his progress.... He does look much better, but still has a way to go... His coat is starting to become shiny and his dry flea bit skin is much better...He is eating 6-7 cups of Innova a day over two meals. Dinner has yogurt and or Solid Gold Seameal mixed in... I think the diet is working well for him.

Great to hear that your boy is doing VERY well, and give yourself a pat on the back for helping him and nursing him back to health :)

Horray for Moose! The poor poor dog.

One of our fosters joined us in rough shape, too. Back then, our 4 yo 27" tall male weighed 70.8 lbs. He was a bag of bones covered in nasty, sparse, dry, brittle fur. Months later he weighed 87 lbs., had a beautiful coat, and was a brand-new looking dog. We fed him 7 cups of Wellness/day, gave him flax & cod liver oil tablets tablets 2x/week, frozen raw beef marrow bones several times a week, & fruits & veggies.
