| brushing was just wondering if any of you had problems with brushing your pup {he's about 15 weeks old} he just wants to bite at the brush you would think it would feel good to him, if he just would let me do it.i think it's just because he's a pup and , well, you know, everything has to go in mouth at that age:p |

| Beau did this. I had to actually teach to stand still first. Even if I was just trying to pet him. Once he learned "stand" it got a lot easier..then instead of turning his whole body to bite he would just try to turn his head...I would just hold a treat in one hand for him to *nibble* on (it kept him distracted) so he wouldn't bite at the brush and then brushed with the other hand. even if it wasn't a thorough brushing at least he was learning to hold his head still at not bite at the brush. Eventually he got used to being brushed and forgot about trying to bite the brush. If your pup knows "stand" I would think you could start baiting him/her for a little bit until he/she forgets about trying to bite at the brush. Also, make sure your not using a brush that is scraping the skin roughly or hurting your pup.
