Re: would you leave your wife if she...

Well, as it turned out we took Max with us. She found a job and is staying with a friend. I am at my parents with max. When we both have jobs we will try and find a pet friendly place. Max loves the snow, but his skin is all flaky now and he is shedding like crazy. It seems like it will all work out.

That's great to hear.
I hope everything works out for you all.
As for his flakey skin, I suppose it's to be expected after such a dramatic change in climate.
Good luck, Alison

Just makes me appreciate my dog-loving family who already welcomed Jazz with open arms when I told them I'd be leaving the country for a few months (and we're I'm going, dogs aren't really pets). But oh man, am I gonna miss him like crazy.

How GREAT! Happy story and I love happy dog stories. Cut open an Omega 3 Fatty Acid capsule and squeeze it on his dog food everyday...great for skin and heart! So glad you're here with both family members! MM

thaks I will give it a try for his skin. He is also shedding like crazy, even though it is freezing out. His skin must be in shock.

lovelight, I am so happy for you. You have such a lovely boy. I use a furminator and it helps a lot with shedding. My boy isn't shedding but I'm sure it is because of the change in climate that you boy is shedding right now. I give Moose a 1000mg of Fish Oil a day and 400 IU of Vitamin E two times a week. It has really helped him.

I'm glad he likes the vacuum. His coat is confused right now I think. You can type in furminator in google search and you will see what it is. Once my boy starts shedding this Spring I will use it to help get his thick coat out.

My next dog is going to be socialized with Electrolux early on! Wish I had invented the Furminator-they're great and rotties have the perfect hair for one. You'll be amazed.

It's a miracle - a man who vacuums - TWICE A DAY!!!

Well, after I had her get a crate, mail it to me, help get all the paperwork in Jamaica, pay for his flight, rent a car, and drive from Miami to Boston with me and Max, I can't ask her to do anything. It was an adventure. I guess we are both lucky.

He loves the snow. He is just too happy to be out in it. I think he misses swimming in the ocean though.

He is a very smart rottie to miss the ocean. Snow is fun but the ocean in Jamaica must be fantastic.
