Re: Furst vom Wolfert Turm

I saw him in person, win the Ontario Valley Seiger show in Ottawa several years ago.

A VERY lovely dog with a great temperament. I heard he had died though. (he had been sold to South America)

Re: Furst vom Wolfert Turm

Most of the Eastern bloc stuff that's coming out is based on close breedings on him. Beautiful boy, the TRQ did a pretty nice spread on him years ago. He is dead (long since, I think) but they have plenty of semen on him. And yes, he was shipped to Brazil. Someone (I can't remember whom) claims to be the sole agent of that semen for anyone wishing a breeding.

Yes, he has got to be one of the nicest dogs I have seen in person. Lovely conformation, and an excellent temperament. I took many pics of him, and at all angles, he was perfect.

Littermates of Furst are on the Pawvillage site:
Furst Littermates

That year, I went VVN-2 with my 4-6 mons puppy bitch, Cree, and won the Most Promising Puppy dog award with Dragon from the 9-12 class. The next year, I won with my Donnie, again Most Promising Puppy from the 4-6 class. Great memories of Max's show!

Re: Furst vom Wolfert Turm

Yes I was there. I was the insane NH, USA person who drove up the first day of the show (puppies etc) went to the museum of Natural History, found out no one knew what mashed potatoes were when we went out to eat, we showed two bitches in open the next day and drove back home that night. Got home at Midnight or something like that LOL LOL The FAST dog show trip

Furst was a very lovely dog.

Re: Furst vom Wolfert Turm

Rave's dam is Yuma vom Wolfert Turm, and there's a Jeronimo vom Wolfert Turm. I'll have to check your link and see if I have a "relative." Then, other side of the family...I know her grandmother, Tina vom Weisen Schwan, just got her SchH3 and her IPO3.

Re: Furst vom Wolfert Turm

I'm asking because I'm considering a litter that has Furst behind them, he would be the grandfather.

Re: Furst vom Wolfert Turm

Hey Gret,
The eastern block countries are linebreeding on Flash, which is Furst's littermate brother. Flash was a beautiful dog, as well. However, there were questions about his hips.
We saw Furst as a youth dog. It was no question then, that this dog would be something someday. Years later, I competed against Furst at the World show in Puerto Rico. I saw him unattended in an excercise area at this show. He had a wonderful temperament and a beautiful animal, to boot.
